I came up with this meditation on mortality to celebrate my 26th birthday. In lieu of a traditional party, I invited friends over to bring an object that symbolizes either life or death to them, and we shot portraits of them holding their precious objects. With the symbolism of what they chose to bring in mind, I selected found footage to integrate into the edit.
